What an amazing video. A total I was there story, and the full on about Iraq modern day. It’s over 20 minutes long, well worth the sit-down
Talk about people not getting it. I’m tired of people not understanding why Vets for Freedom and other prior active duty (read: veterans) aren’t so thrilled with the proposed education incentive boost. [The package] incentivizes getting out so you can get a free college education versus staying in and getting a free college education.
Best quote ever on this vid about the benefits package that McCain was against:
We’re in a time of war.. why wouldn’t we want to incentivize staying in?

This section examines questions about GI Bill benefits - whether adding new benefits is a good thing, whether John McCain thinks that increasing spending is too expensive and would rather increase monthly benefits.
Do we owe a complete scholarship to military members?
This brings in the discussion about whether giving more benefits to veterans / military brings in the wrong crowd. One commenter states that doing this would result in more people are coming for the incentives rather than the mindset of service:
The interviewer asks the question of what makes military members different than the average citizen in that they say ‘no’ to their benefits when most Americans have their hands out.
Is it worth raising taxes?
What do you think about the proposed new GI Bill? Should we be spending even more money, and if so, why?

More blogging tips… I’ve been working with plugins but not to the extent ArmyMom has. I only use about half of these. For her, they work. For me, I have to screw around with the .php files after downloading them, etc. etc.

Blog: IRAQ THE MODEL:
“Me: who threatened them? Papers guy: the death notes were signed by the mujahideen; they said that they will kill anyone who continues to print, distribute or sell newspapers.”
“He then showed me one of those notes; the ban includes virtually every paper but basically ‘papers that promote Safawi [Persian] Shiasm, blasphemous secular ideas and democracy’.”

I’m finally jumping into the blogosphere. I’ve got several projects going on, and it’s only two weeks until election time.
Ranch stuff - we’re trying to build a fourplex to live in up near Vacaville and Fairfield, California. This is getting to be quite the project since there is a piece of legislature called the Williamson Act which takes some working around. You’ll see more about that as I continue working on the project.
Iraq war - I’m continually surprised at the viewpoints of people around me. Of course California is a very Democratic state, however there is a serious disconnect between military families and the ‘rezidents’ of CA. The problem is in information assessment. The latest polls show that the military families are overwhelmingly backing Bush because they feel he’s a better leader.
I’ve decided to put a letter together for my friends, and send it with a book called ‘Dirty Bomb: Weapons of Mass Disruption’. I will publish it here later.
